Aerogel insulation for cold and sub ambient applications

Cryogel is designed for cold service and cryogenic systems that demand moisture control and long term reliability.

Typical applications:

• Refrigeration systems for underground cooling

• Chilled and brine water lines

• Cold storage and process refrigeration piping

• LNG/LPG storage and fuel systems

Key benefits:

• Very low thermal conductivity

• Excellent condensation and moisture control

• Long lifespan in wet, dusty or harsh environments

• Reduced insulation thickness for easier retrofits

Cladding and joint sealing:

• Cold and cryogenic systems require moisture tight jacketing and vapor barriers

• Galvanized jacketing is acceptable in suitable non marine environments

• Aluminum or stainless steel jacketing is widely preferred

• Joint sealing is essential. Aluminum foil is acceptable in most cases and Aspen recommends several sealing tapes in their installation manual
