High performance aerogel insulation for hot service applications

Pyrogel is designed for high temperature systems where insulation performance, space limitations and durability matter.

Typical applications:

• Steam and condensate lines

• Boilers and power plant piping

• HRSG systems

• Smelter off gas systems and converters

• Sulfuric acid plant equipment

• Hot slurry and process piping

• Firewater lines needing freeze protection

Key benefits:

• Much thinner and lighter than mineral wool or calcium silicate

• Lower heat loss and increased operating efficiency

• Hydrophobic and breathable to reduce CUI risk

• Easy to cut, fit and re install during inspections

• Suitable for outdoor and heavy industrial environments

Temperature performance:

• Recommended for use up to 650 °C

• Pyrogel XTF and HPS perform well slightly above this range

• Engineered for long term service life when correctly designed and installed

Cladding and protection:

• Usually protected with metallic or non metallic cladding

• Compatible with galvanized jacketing, but long term corrosion can occur at high temperatures with moisture

• Aluminum or stainless steel jacketing is preferred for outdoor longevity

• Pyrogel XTF must be used with stainless steel or galvanized cladding when passive fire protection is required
